When you encounter Kaylee and Jacob (who goes by Jake), there will be no doubt in your mind, they complement each other perfectly. I had the opportunity to second shoot with a sweet friend of mine, Amanda Scott, and after experiencing Kaylee, Jake, and their family and friends I am so glad I did! I spent quite a bit of time before the ceremony with Jake, his groomsmen, and family. Something that stood out to me was how Jake carried himself. He was genuine and kind to everyone, but in particular the relationship shared with his mother actually brought tears to my own eyes. The photos of his mother helping him with his boutonniere are some of my favorite from this day, because I can still remember the tenderness between the two of them.
A common fear for a wedding day is rain. Especially when the ceremony/reception are suppose to be outdoors. Rain was what came with this wedding day. However, Kaylee didn’t let that stop her plans. The ceremony went on without hitch, outdoors… in the rain. And I’m not gonna lie, I loved it. Many brides would not risk getting their dress, hair, and makeup wet this early into the celebration. After all, the ceremony is the first part of the celebration when the majority of people will see the bride. Kaylee ran with it though, and everything was beautiful. Rain and all.
After the ceremony, the rain slowed, allowing some portrait time, before heading in for the celebration.
