The forecast had been predicting it all week, and now the wedding day was here. Rain was the last thing Rachel wanted. But this morning, of all mornings it was raining. The bridal prep began and wedding day setup was underway at the Montellano. Come rain or shine, Rachel and Abel were going to get married today and that is what ultimately mattered.
By the time we arrived, I am happy to share that the storm clouds had dispersed, the rain stopped, and the sun had come out. Any thoughts of rain — simply gone. The bride, Rachel, glowed, and her groom, Abel, was radiating joy. This day, that we thought was going to throw a few hiccups into our plans ended up being seamless and perfect.
Their first look was an emotional filled one, with Abel losing it at the sight of his bride. I (Danielle) will absolutely admit to tearing up behind the camera as they shared a few minutes together focused only on each other. The ceremony was full of friends and family, including a special seat in honor and remembrance of Rachel’s late father.
During the reception, heartfelt toasts were made, cake was cute, and dancing ensued. The bridal party took a moment during the dancing to share a tradition from their college years, chanting a charming rhyme while passing a bottle of Sparks (at least I think it was Sparks LOL) around the group for each to take a “swig” of. Unless you were the lucky person that, based on the part of the rhyme being chanted, had to take one long “swig”.
To end the night, the couple had pizza from Marco’s brought in as a late night snack for guests, before exiting through flying streamers and ribbons.
Their honeymoon was a week in Disney World, and having followed their posts while there I can say I was living vicariously through their time in all the parks at the “happiest placeon earth.”
Rachel and Abel – We adore y’all and have enjoyed every second of the journey toMr. and Mrs. You both are opposites in all the best ways and bring out so much of the best in each other. From your attention to detail, Rachel, and Abel’s sensitive spirit, to y’alls combined energy and excitement, you two are a match made in Heaven. You both already know that life is anything but perfect, and have faced so much together. While marriage may not always feel like “heaven”, you two, without doubt, have what it takes to outlast. All our love, Danielle & Josh
